Single and bi-parting sliders for retail, grocery, clinic and lobby entrances, including breakout panels for emergency egress.
Fort McMurray, Alberta · Northern Alberta
We supply, install and service automatic sliding and swing doors, low-energy operators and accessible push-button openers for stores, clinics, offices and multi-unit buildings.
Fort McMurray
Fort McMurray is the urban centre of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the oil sands region.
An automatic entrance has to open every time, close safely behind people and hold up to hundreds of cycles a day in every kind of weather. We size the operator to the door and the traffic, set up the sensors for the space in front of it, and test the safety functions before we hand it over.
For existing entrances we repair and adjust operators, replace worn belts, rollers and gear motors, re-aim or replace sensors, and set up planned maintenance so small problems are caught before the door stops working. We also retrofit manual doors with low-energy operators and push buttons so they meet barrier-free needs.
Local conditions
Some of the coldest winters in the province, short summers and long stretches of darkness. Industrial, oilfield and institutional buildings put doors through heavy use.
Automatic doors in the north have to cope with ice, snow and extreme cold. We set operators for cold conditions and recommend vestibules and heaters where needed.
The automatic doors work we do most, for houses, businesses and multi-unit buildings.
Single and bi-parting sliders for retail, grocery, clinic and lobby entrances, including breakout panels for emergency egress.
Full-power and low-energy swing operators for corridors, vestibules and entrances where a slider won't fit.
Low-energy operators with push-button or touchless switches added to existing manual doors, wired to work with the lock.
Fort McMurray follows the National Building Code – 2023 Alberta Edition, in force across Alberta since May 1, 2024. Barrier-free requirements are in Section 3.8, Accessibility. Here's what applies to this work.
This is a plain-language summary, not the code itself. Requirements depend on the building's occupancy, size and whether the work is new construction or an alteration. Confirm them with your designer and the local authority having jurisdiction. More on barrier-free code in Fort McMurray.

Yes. We supply and install complete automatic sliding and swing entrances, and we add operators to existing doors when the door and frame are in good shape.
Busy entrances should have a safety check and service at least once a year, and more often for high-traffic doors. Check the manufacturer's guidance for your operator. We can set up a maintenance schedule that fits your traffic.
Usually, yes. Most swing doors in good condition can take a low-energy operator and push buttons. We check the door weight, hinges, frame and lock first, since an electrified lock or strike may be needed so the door can open on its own.
