Overview

Turnstiles & pedestrian gates, done properly

Access control on a door lets one credential open it, but anyone can follow the person in front of them. Turnstiles fix that by letting one person through per credential, which is why they're used in office lobbies, industrial sites, stadiums, transit and secure facilities.

We help you choose the right type for the space and the traffic, install it with its readers and wiring, and plan an accessible gate beside it for wheelchairs, strollers and deliveries. Turnstiles also have to be planned so they don't block a required exit, so we work with your designer on the layout.

We adjust until it closes, latches, locks and opens the way it should, then clean up before we leave.

Questions we hear a lot

Do turnstiles meet accessibility requirements?

Turnstiles themselves usually aren't accessible, so an accessible wide-lane gate or door is installed beside them. We plan that into the layout from the start.

What happens in a fire alarm?

Turnstiles can be connected to the fire alarm so they release for free exit, and the layout has to keep required exits clear. We confirm the details with your designer and the local authority.

Can turnstiles use our existing access cards?

Usually, yes. Turnstiles take standard readers, so they can use the same cards, fobs or mobile credentials as your doors.
