Overview

Garage doors, done properly

A garage door is the largest moving thing in most houses, and it runs on springs under a lot of tension. When a spring or cable fails, the door can become heavy or fall, so it's a job for someone with the right tools.

We replace springs, cables, rollers, hinges and drums, balance and tune the door, and install new openers and weather seals. When the door itself is done, we install new insulated doors sized for your opening.

When to call

Signs you need us

  • The door is heavy or won't stay up
  • A loud bang, then the door won't open (often a broken spring)
  • The door is crooked or a cable is loose
  • The opener runs but the door doesn't move
  • Cold air and snow get in under the door

Questions we hear a lot

Is a broken garage door spring an emergency?

Don't try to open the door by hand or with the opener when a spring is broken. The door is far heavier without the spring helping. Leave it closed and call us.

How long do garage door springs last?

Standard springs are typically rated for around 10,000 cycles, so a door used several times a day can need new springs within several years. Higher-cycle springs last longer.

Can you insulate my existing garage door?

We can replace worn bottom and perimeter seals, which helps a lot with drafts. For real insulation value, a new insulated door is usually the better choice.
